LCS Blackwood Amateur Mini-series Race Report

Qualification

* [LCS] MooN: [LCS-マ] MooN

Qualifying saw yeboi taking pole by staggering half a second than 2nd place MooN who manages to secure the front row by taking 2nd off of M@CI3K at the last moment. Pras was 4th, Sean Lau took 5th away from iodine as the gap increased making large time distance for 7th place Kevin, 8th starter Wax, 9th sitter Azyer, and 10th place Alysavos.

First Race Results: 6 Laps w/Mandatory Pit Stop

Alysavos: DNF (Lap 5th)

Azyer finished 8th but had 30 seconds added to his time for a late pitlane speeding.

The race starts in an orderly fashion way as drivers rush through the first corner. All seems to well until a turn 1 contact from Wax with Alysavos. The contact opened a gap for Azyer to slip pass Alysavos taking 8th place in the process. Wax would then give back the position to Alysavos.

Contact with Alysavos allowed Azyer to pass through 2 driver in one corner.

Start of lap 2, Kevin had found an opening to pass Sean from the inside into turn 1. Alas, luck is not on his side as Sean saw the opening gap and begin to close it. Kevin tried to insist on going for a disappearing gap leading him to the grass resulting in a spin for turn 1, dropping him closer to 7th place Wax.

Coming up to lap 3 Pras opted an odd tactic to swap driver with Mikke who had not qualify for the race but was present in the server. This is proven to be a loophole in the race rules as it had not mention anything about driver swapping. No penalty would be given. Unlucky Alysavos received a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pitlane. He then had a technical problem with the car whilst coming out of the pit and later retired at the penultimate lap.

Controversial move from Wax as he pushes Alysavos off the road. Telemetry later showed Alysavos braked late and lost the car under braking for the reason he veered off the road

Coming into lap 5 Wax and Azyver were seen to have a pit stop battle. Trouble for Wax as miscommunication with the pit crew ended up with all his 4 tires changed, losing time for position. Azyver got the leg of it, but was heavy-footed with the gas ending him way above the pit limit resulting in a 30 second time penalty, something Wax took opportunity with.

An earlier shunt from Azyer to Wax. No harm done, the twos continue battling for position

A hollow victory for yeboi as he wins the first race with ease. MooN's 2nd position was saved by the lap limit as Mikke had gain substantial laptime but wasn't quick enough to get out of 3rd position. M@CI3K finishes 4th, ahead of 5th place iodine. Sean Lau was on 6th, Kevin 7th, Wax 8th, Azyer 9th.

Second Race Results: Reverse Grid 8 Laps w/Mandatory Pit Stop

MooN: DNF, DSQ (Lap 4th)

Sean Lau: DSQ (Did not serve penalty)

The feature race was dominated by yeboi as he brushes off other drivers lap by lap.
The first lap can be called slightly chaotic as iodine found himself sandwiched by 3 other drivers sending him off the track dropping him to last from 6th. The incident benefitted yeboi to push through the backpacker as he went on to 1st position. A small incident at the penultimate corner nearly made yeboi entering the sand pit. He lost 2 place to M@CI3K and Azyer but was saved from last place by a crash from iodine with Sean Lau.

Many drivers opted to pit earlier in this race as 5 drivers including Pras, who swapped driver with Mikke decided to swap again for the second race. Sean Lau was unfortunate enough to get shunt at the pit entry causing some speed above the pit limit giving him a drive-through. However due to miscommunication the information about his penalty was not clearly received. He was disqualified afterward

Pras swapping driver with Mikke. M@CI3K barely avoided accident with Pras in the pitlane

Coming up to lap 3 yeboi attacks Wax to take 2nd position. Wax responded with a defensive driving but eventually gotten pass by yeboi. MooN, what was about to be a win for him had to deal with an ordeal of getting drive-through penalty not once, but twice after serving his drive-through he got from lap 2. He later retired from rage quit.

Lap 3 and onward, Kevin is under pressure from M@CI3K's XFG, a car he underestimated was proven to be menacing in the hand of a tame racing driver. M@CI3K eventually went through at lap 5 after a cornering mistake costed Kevin his 3rd position.

Final lap was seem to be predicted that Mikke is about to take the win as yeboi hadn't pit. All went in vain as Mikke got no fuel for the final lap, he had to pit for the 2nd time to refuel. yeboi was leaping without pressure.

yeboi retain his 1st place from a charging Mikke who took 2nd, followed by 3rd place M@CI3K, 4th place Kevin, iodine in 5th ahead of Wax and Azyer respectively on 6th and 7th.

The series champ is crowned to yeboi who received the grand prize of €150,000. Mikke on 2nd place received €100,000 whilst 3rd place M@CI3K received €50,000 and 4th place iodine receiving €25,000

Welp my ping was so bad that once I was running for 2 laps straight with everyone else frozen on the map XD. Luckily I did see Kevin or else that would have been catastrophic.
That aside, hope there would be more events in the future :D
